How to Set a Course Expiration

When should I set a lease expiration date for my course?

When you are using the e-commerce feature to sell your courses through the LMS there may be times where you want to put a limit on how long the user has access to the course once he/she has purchased it (e.g., $150 for 12-month access to the course).

With this feature, users are essentially leasing the course for a pre-determined amount of time. At the time of the lease expiration, the user will no longer have access to the course. Though, administrators will still be able to pull reports on the course.

How to Set a Course Expiration

    1. To set an expiration for an e-commerce course you'll first want to login to the administrative side of the LMS and navigate to the "Content" section from the main navigation header and then select the "Courses" tab from the left-hand navigation menu. Once you're on the "Courses" tab, you'll want to search for the name of the course and select the "Edit" button.

    1. Once you are in the course edit form you can add a "Lease Expiration Interval" to make a course expire after a certain timeframe (e.g. 12 months). To do this, select a timeframe from the drop-down menu. Once you've selected a timeframe you can "Save" the course.

  1. Now, when a user goes to purchase this course, he/she will see how long the access period is for the course so that he/she can complete it in time (e.g., 12 months access).
