Setting Up Extended Enterprise Sites
Knowledge Anywhere offers Extended Enterprise for our Professional and Enterprise Tier customers. This feature is a great way to offer training to external audiences or channel partners. Extended Enterprise allows you to present learners with different branded portals into your LMS in order to customize the experience for learners while serving up content from one central location. Each Extended Enterprise site will have its own unique URL.
You may want to set up Extended Enterprise if you want to provide training to:
- Outside groups such as external audiences
- Channel partners
- Users with a unique branding and messaging from your other products
- Users that need to have unique profile fields than those provided on your main site (If you have questions about profile fields, please contact Knowledge Anywhere Support)
Please note: Professional Tier has up to 4 sites included at no extra charge and Enterprise Tier includes up to 7 sites. Additional sites are available for $300/year per site.
How To Set Up Extended Enterprise
If you want to set up an Extended Enterprise site, please contact Knowledge Anywhere Support with the following information:
- Your company name and LMS URL
- Desired URL for Extended Enterprise site (ex: site2.knowledgeanywhere.com)
Knowledge Anywhere Support will then set up a new URL within 48-72 hours and notify once completed. Creating an Extended Enterprise site does require a release to production and there may be downtime associated with this release.
You can then go into your Admin site and customize your new Extended Enterprise Site. For more information, see How to Customize your LMS.
Assigning Learners and Content to Extended Enterprise
You can assign users to specific sites by using Registration codes and specifying the Site Name for that registration code.
You can also manually assign users to a specific site.
Once a user is associated with an Extended Enterprise site, they will only be able to login to that site. Should a user accidentally try to login on another site, they will be redirected to the correct site.
