What is a due date:
This is the date at which a training course has to be completed by the learner. If the learner fails to complete the course by the due date, both the admin and learner will see a visual within the LMS stating that the course is past due. If this course is a prerequisite to other trainings, the learner will not be able to continue until this course has been completed. When the learner is past due on the course, a ‘message’ will appear for the learner that will notify them about the past due course. The learner will also receive an email notification
Note: Due dates will only show up for the course if the course is set to required status.
How do I select a due date for an Online or a Self Study course?
Login into Admin site -> Content -> Courses -> Add New
On the following, you will notice the option for Due Date. The default is set to ‘None’. The Admin can change this and select either ‘Due Date’ or ‘Set Time Period’. Choosing the due date will prompt the Admin to select a specific date for this course. Another option is to choose ‘Set Time Period’. This differs from the due date in that the due date is a specific date, while the Set Time Period is certain amount of days. You can either choose from the options given or use the custom option, which allows you to enter any amount of days between 1 and 365. This means that if used, the learner will have that many days to complete the course. Ex. If a course with a set time period of 90 days is published and a month later, a new employee is added to the Group, that new employee will still have 90 days to complete the course, while the other employees will have 60 days. Once you are done making changes, click on Save.
Please Note: As of now, there is no due date available for the Instructor Lead Training courses.
As an Admin, how can I run report on Due Dates?
Log into Admin -> Reports -> Due Dates
In this section, complete the fields, as required for the report. Click on ‘Generate Report’. This will populate a list on the same screen, further down the page. You can also export this data to Excel by clicking on ‘Export to Excel’.
